Photography is my greatest passion. My father gave me my first camera when I was about 10 years old and taught me to look at the world with a photographer’s eye. In college, I dabbled further in photography, learning to add formal structure and techniques to my hobby. Then in 1997, I bought my first digital camera and was completely hooked. Since then, I haven’t been able to stop clicking. I really believe that my camera has become a fashion accessory for me. I am rarely seen without it.

For several years I focused most of my attention on sports photography and lifestyle portraits. Then through the encouragement and support of my family and friends, I decided to turn my passion into a business. It was then that Kara Rountree Photography was born.

I am married and have a beautiful son. As a family, we love to travel and photograph interesting people and places all over the world. We have been able to see almost every state in the US, including Alaska and Hawaii and have also traveled abroad, seeing places like Spain, Greece, Italy, France, Ireland, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
